Today I want you to focus on what is needed to be persuasive.
What language would you use?
Read the letter below and tell me what persuasive language the Macaw has used.

  1. Dear Mr McKenzie,

I see you have a new packet of sweets. If you share them with me, we can both enjoy the lovely chocolate taste. Also sweets have lots of sugar so if we share them then we only have half each and it is a bit more healthy. I was always told sharing is caring.

The Macaw tries to tell the man all about the wonderful Rainforest. He tells the man that it has been there for many years and is home to many animals. The macaw tries to make the man understand that cutting down one tree will only lead to more trees being chopped down. The trees have been there for hundreds of years. Long before the man arrived. Telling the man that 50% of the Earth's animals and plants live in the Rainforest show the importance of the Rainforest and how it impacts the world not just the plants and animals.
